Agricultural Gurus: Feed them the best
Agricultural Gurus focuses on processing horticultural byproducts including fruits and vegetables, crop residues and food waste into animal feed mix. In this way, Agricultural Gurus counteracts carbon dioxide emissions (2 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per day) from the rotting of agricultural waste and food waste while producing a balanced and affordable feed mix.
The product was launched 2 years ago and the business model is already working out successfully with first incomes and positive feedback from the local customers. Within the last couple of year, Agricultural Gurus expanded they network from their local community to other farmers and regional districts. So far, Agricultural Gurus has been successfully selling to 100 local livestock farmers.
The venture plans to expand from selling to local livestock farmers to regional markets. The next steps are to increase the production capacity of the plant and to open new branches in Burundi and Malawi. Moreover, Agricultural Gurus is looking for partnerships with the Government of Rwanda, NGOs and other professional organizations.
