III. General information about data processing

1. Scope of personal data processing

Principally, we process personal data of our users only to the extent necessary for the provision of a functional website and our content and services. The processing of personal data of our users takes place only after the user has consented to it. An exception applies to cases in which prior consent is not possible for factual reasons and the processing of the data is permitted by law.

Each time our website is accessed, our system automatically collects data and information from the computer system of the calling computer.

The following data is collected:

(5) Transferred amount of data
(6) Indication whether the access/retrieval was successful

The data is also stored in the log files of our system. A storage of this data together with other personal data of the user does not take place.

The legal basis for the temporary storage of data and the log files is Art. 6 paragraph 1 f) GDPR.

4. Purpose of data processing

The temporary storage of the IP address by the system is necessary to allow the delivery of the website to the computer of the user. To do this, the user's IP address must be kept for the duration of the session.

Storage in log files is done to ensure the functionality of the website. In addition, the data is used to optimize the website and to ensure the security of our information technology systems. An evaluation of the data for marketing purposes does not take place in this context.

In these purposes lies our legitimate interest in the processing of data according to Art. 6 paragraph 1 f) GDPR.

5. Duration of storage

The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer necessary to achieve the purpose of its collection. In the case of collecting the data for providing the website, this is the case when the respective session is completed.

6. Possibility of objection and removal

The collection of the data for the provision of the website and the storage of the data in log files is essential for the operation of the website. There is consequently no possibility of objection on the part of the user.

Our website uses cookies. Cookies are text files that are stored in the Internet browser or by the Internet browser on the user's computer system. On our website, you can subscribe to a free newsletter. While registering for the newsletter, the data from the input mask is transmitted to us.

This also allows a revocation of the consent of the storage of the personal data collected during the registration process.

User registration is required for the provision of certain content and services on our website. The data will be used solely for the purpose of participating in our workshops, sharing information among participants and building a long-term community. If the registration indicates that the user would like to be contacted in certain cases, we use the data to contact them.

The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer necessary to achieve the purpose of its collection.
This is the case for the data collected during the registration process when the registration on our website is canceled or modified.

16. Possibility of objection and removal

As a user, you have the option of canceling the registration at any time. The data stored about you can be changed at any time. You can change your data at any time on the website under the tab "Edit profile". In this tab, you will also find the button "Cancel account" with which you can dissolve the registration on our website.

VIII. Web analysis by Matomo (formerly PIWIK)

17. Scope of the processing of personal data

We use the open-source software tool Matomo (formerly PIWIK) on our website to analyze the surfing behavior of our users. The software sets a cookie on the computer of the users (for cookies see above). If individual pages of our website are accessed, the following data is stored:

(1) Two bytes of the IP address of the calling system of the user
(2) The accessed website
(3) The website from which the user came to the accessed website (referrer)
(4) The subpages that are accessed from the accessed web page
(5) The length of stay on the website
(6) The frequency of accessing the website

The software runs exclusively on the servers of our website. Storage of the personal data of the users takes place only there. A transfer of the data to third parties does not take place.

The legal basis for the processing of the users' personal data is Article 6 (1) f) GDPR.

19. Purpose of data processing

The processing of users' personal data enables us to analyze the surfing behavior of our users. By analyzing the obtained data, we are able to compile information about the use of the individual components of our website. This helps us to constantly improve our website and its user-friendliness. For these purposes, our legitimate interest lies in the processing of data according to Art. 6 paragraph 1 f) GDPR. The anonymisation of the IP address sufficiently takes into account the interest of the users in their protection of personal data.

The data will be deleted as soon as they are no longer needed for our recording purposes. In our case, this is the case after 2 years.

IX. Integration of services and contents of third parties

Based on our legitimate interests (i.e. interest in the analysis, optimization and economic operation of our online offer based on Art. 6 paragraph 1 GDPR), we make use of content or services offered by third-party providers in order to provide their content and services, such as videos or fonts (hereinafter consistently referred to as "content").

This always presupposes that the third-party providers of this content perceive the IP address of the users since they could not send the content to their browser without the IP address. The IP address is therefore required for the presentation of this content. We endeavor to use only content whose respective providers use the IP address only for the delivery of the content. Third parties may also use so-called pixel tags (invisible graphics, also referred to as "web beacons") for statistical or marketing purposes. The "pixel tags" can be used to evaluate information, such as visitor traffic on the pages of this website. The pseudonymous information may also be stored in cookies on the user's device and may include, but is not limited to, technical information about the browser and operating system, referring web pages, time of visit, and other information regarding the use of our online offer as well as be connected with such information from other sources.

24. Use of Facebook social plugins

On the basis of our legitimate interests (i.e. interest in the analysis, optimization and economic operation of our online offer based on Art. 6 paragraph 1) GDPR) we use social plugins ("plugins") of the social network facebook.com, which is operated by Facebook Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbor, Dublin 2, Ireland ("Facebook"). The plugins can depict interaction elements or content (e.g. videos, graphics or text contributions) and can be recognized by one of the Facebook logos (white "f" on blue tile, the terms "Like", "Like" or a "thumbs up" sign ) or are marked with the addition "Facebook Social Plugin". Facebook is certified under the Privacy Shield Agreement, which provides a guarantee to comply with European privacy legislation (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt0000000GnywAAC&status=...).

When a user invokes a feature of this online offering that includes such a plugin, their device establishes a direct connection to the Facebook servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted by Facebook directly to the device of the user and incorporated by it into the online offer. In the process, user profiles can be created with the processed data. We, therefore, have no influence on the extent of the data that Facebook collects with the help of this plugin and therefore informs users according to our level of knowledge.

By integrating the plugins, Facebook receives the information that a user has accessed the corresponding page of the online offer. If the user is logged in to Facebook, Facebook can link the visit to his Facebook account. If users interact with the plugins, for example, press the Like button or leave a comment, the information is transmitted from your device directly to Facebook and stored there. If a user is not a member of Facebook, there is still the possibility that Facebook will find out and save their IP address. According to Facebook, in Germany, only an anonymous IP address is stored.

If a user is a Facebook member and does not want Facebook to collect data about him via this online offer and link it to his member data stored on Facebook, he must log out of Facebook and delete his cookies before using our online offer.
