Declaration of consent on the storage and use of personal data by GIZ: Enabling the registration process and the participation in the lab of tomorrow innovation process


  • As the protection of personal data is very important for GIZ, this declaration explains what data relating to the registration on this website is stored and the purpose for which it is used.
  • The data is stored on Hetzner servers in Germany.
  • Data deletion and storage duration: The personal data of the data subject will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of the storage ceases to apply. In addition, personal data may be stored if provided for by the European or national legislator in EU regulations, laws or other regulations to which the controller is subject. Blocking or deletion of the data also ensues when a storage period prescribed by the standards mentioned expires, unless there is a need for further storage of the data for conclusion of a contract or fulfillment of the contract.
  • Personal data (e.g. Name, e-mail address and if applicable personal preferences concerning your specified interests) are transmitted in connection with the registration process for the lab of tomorrow are stored on GIZ servers and used for the participant management within the lab of tomorrow as well as for sending relevant information and updates concerning the lab of tomorrow to you.
  • GIZ uses appropriate technical and organisational measures to secure your data against unintentional or intentional falsification, destruction, loss or access by unauthorised persons. Access to your personal data is restricted to GIZ staff within the lab of tomorrow team who needs to process the data for the above-mentioned purpose, and who will handle the information you provide in a proper and confidential manner.
  • GIZ is also authorised to forward data to our partner organisation, which conducts the individual lab of tomorrow for us, to be processed for the above-mentioned purposes.
  • The data will be used exclusively for the declared purposes. Any other use will always be dependent on your consent being obtained again.
  • Cookies are small text files that are stored locally in your browser cache when you visit a web page. They are only used for the duration of a session to identify you when you log in, to select the correct menu language and to ensure that the browsing session runs smoothly. You can, if you wish, deactivate cookies within your browser. This could, however, impact on performance.
  • The person signing this declaration is entitled to enquire about his/her personal data, to have the data corrected if necessary, and to demand that the data be erased. The data will then be erased. The consent given to use personal data can also be revoked at any time.
  • Reference to user rights: You are entitled 1) to object to data processing, 2) to enquire about your personal data and its processing and 3) to have this corrected if necessary, or to request restriction of processing or the erasure of the data.
